Nomura believes in being at the forefront of innovation. We believe that FinTech startups have the potential to disrupt financial services and bring in a paradigm shift. Through the Voyager program we will provide a platform for FinTech startups to engage with us and create solutions that can potentially transform the way we work globally.
Voyager is one of the few FinTech programs in the world focusing on capital markets and investment banking. The program provides an opportunity for startups to work in a truly global environment and potentially gain Nomura as a client.
We are looking for startups with innovative FinTech propositions and strong technology capabilities in at least one of the technologies listed above to apply to the program.
The program has advisors who will guide and mentor startups through the process of solution development and implementation. In addition, open sessions will be organized with industry experts for startups to interact with and build a strong network.
There is a possibility that Nomura will invest in a particular startup depending on its relevance to Nomura, feasibility, financial attractiveness.
Startups will be screened for their product capability, experience and client base. Shortlisted startups will get an opportunity to conduct a Proof of Concept (PoC) post which the final set of startups will get selected. These selected startups will then work with Nomura to develop solutions.
No. However, it is preferred that shortlisted startups maintain some representation in Mumbai during the demonstration and PoC stage
This will be looked at on a case-to-case basis.

Jitendra Gupta is the founder and MD of Citrus Pay, a leading digital payments company in India. Post acquisition of Citrus Pay by Naspers, he leads the consumer businesses at the combined entity, PayU India, as their Managing Director. He has more than 12 years of work experience in banking and financial services industry and is considered an expert in payments industry. Prior to Citrus, he worked with ICICI bank for 7 years, wherein he was part of the founding team of Retail cross sell and Investment banking division in the bank. During his last stint with the bank, he led the whole initiative of stitching a joint venture between ICICI bank and First Data in the Indian market. This was a unique JV ever done between a bank and an independent payments company. In last 4 years, he has grown Citrus in to a 300 member+ strong team. Citrus counted its investors base from Sequoia Capital and E-context Japan to Ascent Capital in Series C round. He also led Citrus to the largest all-cash deal in the FinTech space in India, with the acquisition of Citrus by Naspers Group in September 2016. He graduated from Sydenham College, Mumbai and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Radhesh Kanumury leads the Global Entrepreneur Program for IBM India and South Asia. He has been responsible for steering the Global Entrepreneur Program of IBM from scratch to one of the companies to be reckoned by the Startup ecosystem in India. Matthew Hampson is a Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Nomura’s Wholesale division. He received his Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Liverpool JM University in 1992. His career spans 25 years in financial services technology at major Investment banking firms including Merrill Lynch, JPMorgan and Royal Bank of Scotland. Over his career he has worked in Infrastructure, Software development and Organisational leadership before his recent roles in Architecture and Strategy. Matthew’s experience spans all asset classes and divisions of Wholesale banking, and extends from front office trading systems to back end settlement and financial accounting platforms. He is best known in the Industry as one of the early pioneers in Electronic Trading systems. In the mid-90s he led the development of Market Making and Automated Trading platforms in Europe, North America and Asia. His current professional interests are the effective use of parallel computing and reducing the cost of technology by improvements in data architecture and development methodology. Matthew is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, a Liveryman of the City of London Information Technologists Company and a participant in a number of senior Industry forums.

Michio Okazaki is Head of Investor Relations, Global Management Information and Co-Head of Global CMA at Nomura Holdings. After starting his career as a sales representative in Sendai Branch Office in 1995, he spent 9 years in Institutional Equity Sales in London, Paris and Tokyo. Awdhesh Krishna is Managing Director and Global Head of HR, Wholesale Corporate at Nomura. He is an industry veteran with a rich experience of more than two and a half decades in industries as diverse as Manufacturing, Investment Banking and Information Technology Enabled Services. He has played a pivotal role in shaping in and developing workforce strategies across industries through his innovative thinking blended with business acumen. Neeraj Gambhir is currently the Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income at Nomura India. He also served as the MD & Head of Credit business at Lehman Brothers, India. Prior to this, he was a Senior General Manager, Global Head of Structured Finance and Advisory and Global Head of Asset Liability Management at ICICI Bank. Neeraj has approximately 20 years of experience in Indian fixed income, currency & derivative markets. He was Chairman and member of the board of FIMMDA from 2006 to 2007. Neeraj completed his post-graduate diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow and holds Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.
